After my Dad’s party (had just missed his younger sister’s birthday by a couple of days), the following day it was time to celebrate my Mom’s sister’s birthday. Then eight days later, Aletheia turned the same age as me. But that didn’t last long, as in the shadow of America’s birthday I moved up another number. All of the fabulous reasons why everyone should have a birthday in the summer were met time and time again: grilled food, warm weather, and swimming definitely hit the top of the list. This year, it was just as sweet as I caught candy on the side of the road as floats passed by and enjoyed a beach side view of a great fireworks show. I am sad this birthday run won’t include celebrating Eva’s first birthday (just 5 days after mine), but I am sure at some point I will make it to one of her birthday parties as the celebration of her life has only just begun
:)
