As I was not able to go to the Association for Challenge Course Technology conference this winter, I couldn’t let the year pass without attending some kind of conference. Two things lined-up to make this conference possible: first, it was in the great city of Chattanooga. Second, Laura was on the planning committee.
As is tradition, I signed up to help volunteer. Laura was in charge of transportation. Thus I became one of the drivers along with Christina and Shannon. The beauty of the conference was in the idea that workshops were held all over the city. Not only were we learning about experiential education, but we also got a glimpse of Chattanooga.
The conference as a whole was full of lessons. Whether about water barrels, new ways to play Simon Says, or compost, dull moments were rear because we were always engaged in our learning.
